National Roman Museum - Palazzo Massimo alle Terme

The Museum contains collections concerning the history and culture of the city in ancient times. It is owned by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, which since 2016 has counted it among the museum institutes with special autonomy. Originally inaugurated in 1889, the museum was located in the Baths of Diocletian and in the contiguous convent of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, obtained from structures belonging to the same spa complex.
